COURSE GRADING
The final grade will be calculated from the total points for the assignments. This is a hands-on course!
The final grade will be based on percentages of total points as follows:
A.....95-100
B.....90-94
C.....85-89
D.....80-84
COURSE PREREQUISITE
This is not an introductory
computer course. You must be familiar with computers. You should know how to
launch several applications and how to cut and paste information between them.
You should know how to format a disk and make back-up copies. You should be
familiar with your operating system and know how to access the Internet.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Digital pictures and graphics
can be used to enhance and support student created projects for the classroom.
Teachers in this course will learn the use and application of the digital camera,
how to download and use graphics from the web, and be introduced to the manipulation
and creation of graphics using PhotoShop.
COURSE GOAL
The goal of this course is to have classroom teachers learn to create, adopt, manipulate, and utilize graphics to enhance their multimedia and web-based class projects.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course students will be able
to:
1. To
identify the various types of graphics files used on the computer
2. To use the
digital still camera
3. To create and edit digital pictures and graphics
4. To
retrieve digital pictures and graphics from the Internet
5. To assemble a collection
of digital graphics and pictures for classroom use
6. To apply the use of digital
graphics and pictures to various software applications
7. To plan meaningful
activities for utilizing digital graphics and pictures with students
