Digital Movie Information
(100 points)
Your mission is to create a digital movie that will be put on a web page. You will need:
2 VHS Tapes (one will be given to me as your final project)
1 "DV" tape for the digital
camera
Requirements:
1.) The movie should be a minimum of thirty
(60) seconds in length. The maximum length will be your choice!
2.) The movie should be appropriate for your web site. Although the content is your choice, you final movie must approved by me. I will try my best to identify any problems in your proposal such as inappropriate content but I will also reserve the right to ask you to redo the final project if necessary. Ask your self this question: Would I show this movie in a job interview to demonstrate my technology skills?
3.) The movie must be done by you and it must reflect your own personal design and planning. Although you may have another person or persons appear in your movie or help you "shoot," it is your responsibility to do the planning, editing and technical work involved.
4.) The movie must have the following characteristics:
Title with your name as the producer at the beginning
At least one transition
At least one sound, either built-in or CD-based
Text signaling the end
Credits at the end
A dedicated web page built to view the movie saved as “movie.html” with an introductory explanation of the the purpose and content of the movie. You should also provide a link to download QuickTime Player. The link is: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
5.) Suggested ideas for Digital Movies:
A day in your life
Some of your hobbies (demonstration?)
Something personal
A movie sending a message (anti-drugs, SADD,
community service, etc.)
Interview
Take a favorite music CD and make a thematic movie to it
Take a public opinion survey
Document an on-campus activity
Film an event or activity in another class
Note: Although it is easier and of higher quality to shoot a movie with one of our digital cameras, you may use previous movies from a VHS or digital format if it best meets your needs.
6.) Visit the following web pages to view the movies of former student on the "student web pages" of Teacherworld!
7.) The final product of this project will be in the form of a movie on your web page and on a VHS tape. You need to make copies of this movie on two VHS tapes...one for me and one for you! I cannot accept any VHS tape unless it has the following information (I will give an "incomplete" otherwise):
Your name:
The class "Virtual Learning Communities"
The semester
The title of the movie
This information MUST be put on a side strip of the tape so I can see it when the tape is in a box and stored on a shelf!
All tapes must be in the cover box!
HAVE FUN!
THIS IS A FUN
PROJECT!!!!
